Prime 360 is recruiting a Fleet Management Systems Technician.
Job Summary
The Fleet Management Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electronic systems used in the management and monitoring of fleet vehicles. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle telematics, GPS tracking systems and other related technologies. The technician will work closely with fleet managers, drivers and other stakeholders to ensure that the fleet management systems are functioning optimally.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of Fleet Management Systems;
- System Maintenance and Troubleshooting;
- Software Configuration and Updates;
- Data Management and Reporting;
- Provide technical support to drivers, fleet managers and other users of the fleet management systems;
- Conduct training sessions for staff on the use of fleet management systems and best practices for vehicle operation and maintenance;
- Ensure that all fleet management systems comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements;
- Monitor vehicle and driver behavior to identify and address any safety concerns, such as speeding, harsh braking, or unauthorized use of vehicles;
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures based on data from fleet management systems;
- Inventory and Equipment Management;
- Maintain detailed records of all installations, maintenance, repairs, and system configurations;
- Document any issues or incidents related to the fleet management systems and the steps taken to resolve them;
- Keep logs of software updates, system upgrades, and configuration changes.
Qualifications
Education:
- Electronics, Automotive Technology, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in fleet management, automotive electronics, or telematics.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of vehicle telematics, GPS systems and onboard diagnostics systems;
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting electronic systems;
- Understanding of networking and IT systems related to fleet management.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in automotive electronics, telematics, or IT systems may be required or preferred.

- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accurate installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems to avoid operational disruptions;

- Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety practices and the ability to enforce them.
