Fauna & Flora International is recruiting a Finance and Administration Officer, to be based in Chimanimani National Park, Mozambique.

  • Fauna & Flora has been involved in wildlife conservation and management in Mozambique for many
    years, and took on management of the Niassa Game Reserve with SGDRN in the late 1990s.
    Alongside continued support to Niassa through various partnerships, and specifically through work
    in Chuilexi Conservancy, a vast 7,500Km2 block in the East of the Reserve, Fauna & Flora’s portfolio
    within Mozambique also includes direct support to Chimanimani National Park (CNP) and a nascent
    marine programme
  • Focusing on finding long-term and locally owned solutions to the conservation of biodiversity and
    nature, the goal of Fauna & Flora’s Mozambique programme is to be, and to be recognised as, a
    valued partner in the conservation of Mozambique’s biodiversity, working with and supporting
    government and other local, national and international partners by supporting the locally led
    conservation and management of Mozambique’s biodiversity, supporting the national and
    international recognition of Mozambique’s biodiversity, and supporting Mozambique to achieve gains
    for biodiversity and people whilst engaging with business, infrastructure and development
  • We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Finance and Administration Officer to support the
    effective running of Fauna & Flora’s work in Chimanimani National Park. In this pivotal role, you will
    help ensure strong financial management, efficient administration, and smooth operational
    processes, working closely with the Grants & Operations Manager and colleagues across
    Mozambique and the wider Africa team
  • You will bring solid experience in finance, administration and organisational support, ideally within
    an NGO setting, along with strong ICT, coordination and communication skills. If you are highly
    organised, solutions‑focused and enjoy working with a diverse team, this role offers an excellent

Terms and Conditions
  • Start Date: 30th June 2026
  • Duration of Contract: Permanent
  • Probation Period: Six months
  • Gross Salary Range: Circa MZN 1,017,735.00MZN per annum, dependent on experience
  • Location: Chimoio city, Mozambique with travel within Chimanimani National
  • Park and outpost, and to Maputo
  • Benefits: 25 working days’ annual leave entitlement plus national public holidays
    observed in Mozambique

  • Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week Monday to
    Friday inclusive

    Finance and Admin Officer, Mozambique
  • Purpose: Under the immediate supervision of the Finance and Administration Officer, the Finance and
    Administration Officer will offer support towards ensuring that all the financial and administrative
    functions of CNP are effective, transparent and legally appropriate to support Fauna & Flora’s
    programme of work, in conformity with specific funder requirements, Fauna & Flora’s policies and
    procedures and international best practice
Duties
Financial Management
  • Assist in maintaining existing financial systems including but not limited to general expenses
    processing, travel expense claims processing and income & expenditure records
  • Support financial processes on Focal Point such as raising Purchase Orders and uploading
    fund budgets
  • Produce monthly fund financial reports of all active funds and flag any discrepancies to fund
    Managers
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with organisational
    policies, donor requirements, and national regulations
  • Support cash flow management and banking by carrying out bank errands including
    withdrawals, deposits and bank instructions
  • Assist in reviewing staff advances liquidation to make sure the costs are charged to correct
    funds and FRC
  • Prepare all vouchers (payment, receipt and journal vouchers) to ensure the correct coding to
    budget lines, budget availability and the completeness of supporting documentation
  • Assist in ensuing day-to-day transactions are entered into accounting system and make any
    necessary journal adjustments with proper supporting documents
  • Provide adequate filing systems of vouchers and financial supporting documents for the
    annual audits
  • Support the timely preparation, review and approval of all monthly bank account and cash
    reconciliations
  • Assist in Fauna & Flora Mozambique institutional budget development and institutional and
    donor audits
Administration
  • Undertake procurement processes in line with organisational procurement policies and
    prepare procurement documentation, including requests for quotations, purchase orders, and
    contracts
  • Assist to maintain and update the fixed assets register and developing and maintaining a risk
    & safety management system of CNP assets
  • Support CNP administration including premises maintenance, insurance, health, safety and
    security and necessary relocations
  • Monitor and effect regular payments such as vehicle insurance, medical insurance, tax and
    social security payments
  • Ensure timely and regular filing of all Field office documents
  • Provide administrative support to the recruitment and selection process; including preparing
    offers and inductions
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
  • Receive all in-coming correspondence and ensure that it is properly recorded, and brought
    to the timely attention of the Grants and Operations Manager
  • Ensure that out-going correspondence on finance and administrative matters is properly
    recorded and correctly addressed and sent out
  • Undertaking fieldwork or meetings, in terms of bookings of accommodation, flights, cashflow
    availability and supplier payments
  • Support CNP Programme staff in compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Provide support in preparation of events, meetings and workshops for the Chimanimani
    National Park
  • Support HR administration, including staff contracts, leave records, timesheets, and
    attendance tracking
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Organize, scan, share with the Maputo Office, and maintain all logbooks on a monthly basis
  • Review and reconciles all vehicle registration information into the Vehicle Register Book in
    coordination with the CNP Fleet Management Officer
  • Other:
  • Work as an active member of the Mozambique and wider Africa team and attend
    Mozambique and Africa team meetings and work planning sessions as required
  • Coordinate closely with programme teams, relevant Government Authorities, and other
    Chimanimani National Park (CNP) partners
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers to ensure timely delivery of goods and
    services
Requisites
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Excellent financial management, within
    proven experience in process
    management, budgeting, reforecasting
    and procurement
  • Excellent Information and Communication
    Technology (ICT) and data management
    skills, with proven ability use standard
    software packages and provide basic ICT
    support
  • Excellent people management skills, with
    ability to motivate and performance
    manage individuals to achieve excellence
  • Strong verbal communication,
    networking and interpersonal skills,
    with ability and confidence to interact,
    negotiate and persuade at all levels
  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting,
    Business Administration or equivalent
    experience
  • Reasonable years of experience working
    in the NGO sector or similar
    environments
  • Good experience in finance and
    accounting
  • Proven experience working with
    accounting software and systems
  • Professional experience working in
    operations and logistics
    management
  • Proven track record in health, safety
    and security management
  • Proven track record in
    financial management,
    including across a number of
